Coach Keel’s Background |
Coach Matt Keel, the director of the Complete Camp Series and coach of the Choose Top Leg Camps, started wrestling at St. Cloud High School in Florida in 1990. Coach Lee Sill started developing the program there the same year. With his accomplished experience at Crestwood High School, Iowa (80-10-1 dual record in 20+ years) the St. Cloud program blossomed quickly. Coach Keel attributes a lot of his coaching style to the standards Coach Sill set. |

Coach Keel had an impressive high school wrestling career posting a 28-3 senior record. He was unbeaten on his home mat throughout his career. He beat multiple state finalists during his junior and senior years and was St. Cloud’s first two-time region champion. His disappointing finish at the state tournament continues to motivate him as a coach. Coach Keel also played football, ran cross-country, and was a three-time letterman on the varsity weightlifting team. |

Following his aviation dreams, Coach Keel was accepted into the US Air Force Academy and went with plans to compete in the wrestling program there. While becoming accustomed to the rigorous academic requirements he decided not to compete in order to focus on grades. As his focus on his future in the aviation industry matured, he decided to transfer from the Academy to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. While attending Riddle he met and married Virginia Lee Keel. He graduated with a BS in Managment of Technical Operations with an Aeronautical Science specialty in 2000. |
