Coach Forestiere’s Background

Coach Jake Forestiere began wrestling in the Tidewater Area of Virginia, known around the country for its wrestler’s bottom work, where he wrestled for Tabb High School.  Jake completed his high school career as a four year starter with a record of 115-15. In state competition, he finished 3rd as a sophomore, 4th as a junior, and 2nd as a senior despite defeating the AAA and A state champions that year.

Jake then continued his career at Old Dominion University. He picked up the techniques of the Granby School from Coach Steve Martin and Assistant Coach Lee Pritts at the summer camps he worked during school.  Jake won the ODU Invitational and earned one letter at Old Dominion before transferring to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. At UNC, Coach Forestiere spot started for his final two seasons, backing up two wrestlers ranked in the top 10 in their weight class.  He graduated in May of 2008 with a B.A. in Psychology.

Upon graduating, Coach Forestiere moved to Winchester, Virginia and joined the staff at Millbrook High School where he has been coaching since. He is currently planning to wed his fiancée, Ms. Heather Downing, in September 2011.
